Every dog has its day – and these cheeky pups are using theirs to raise money for a children’s hospice.
On Thursday, 9 March, Snowdogs: Tails in Wales will be welcoming businesses, schools, artists and the wider community to their Open Day at Cardiff International White Water.
The free event, from 8am to 6pm, open to all, will give curious dog lovers the chance to find out more about this mass participation public art trail in aid of life-limited children and their families supported by Tŷ Hafan children’s hospice.
The campaign, which has already created a buzz across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, will see a huge pack of 1.5m-high Snowdog sculptures scampering across streets, iconic buildings and open spaces.
Each dog will have its own unique design created and painted by an artist or celebrity.
At the end of the 10-week trail this autumn every dog will find a permanent home when they are put up for auction to raise money for the charity.
Helen Gibbons, project manager of Snowdogs: Tails in Wales, said: “This Open Day event is a great opportunity to find out more about the campaign and how you or your organisation can get involved. We are inviting businesses, teachers, community workers, artists, volunteers and anyone with an interest of any kind to come along to see how they could get involved with this exciting trail.
“Anyone is welcome to attend – just come in to say hello and our friendly team will be on hand to answer any questions….and a few Snowdog sculptures are likely to make an appearance too.”
“This is the first time the event will visit Wales, so make sure you’re a part of one of the must-see events in 2017.”
